Description / Significance
This project started with the clearing of an 8 acre site for a new clubhouse at the Boothbay Harbor Country Club in October 2014.
The work started with a forest, and within 6 1/2 weeks, we had excavated 50,000 cubic yards of material, including 40,000 cubic yards of ledge that was blasted to allow the foundation construction to begin. In addition to the excavation and blasting, our crews performed the excavation and backfill for the building, graded for the slab, and installed the underslab utilities and footing drains all while on a very aggressive schedule that we successfully met. Our crew also installed 5,500 linear feet of utilities, including storm drains, waterlines, and sewer pipes.
We returned in late April of 2015 to build two block retaining walls totaling 2,800 square feet, installed waterlines and storm drain piping, finish crushing, installed curb, completed work at the main entrance and pond area, paved the entrance road and the large parking lots. We then returned in October, after the golf season ended, to demolish the existing clubhouse.
