Unique Job Conditions/Characteristics
Heavy rain led to rising river levels.
Had to breach dam carefully to lower water level behind dam 2 feet per day.
Utilization of state-of-the-art demolition equipment.
After breach was complete, demolishing the 350-foot-long concrete dam began, and removal of debris from the river.
Volunteers transported fish and mussels that were trapped in pools.
Archaeologists found hundreds of Native American artifacts from an early settlement in the area .
